SAYC has a team of Certified Sailing Instructors dedicated to teaching basic sailing skills while focusing on personal development, self-confidence and self-esteem. Our instructors are all US Sailing certified and First Aid and CPR certified. They are all experienced sailors and racers.
Classes are divided by skill level ranging from Beginner to Advanced.
Shore Acres Yacht Club offers full day and half day programs. Full day programs run from 9:00-4:00. Half day programs run from 9:00-12:00. Full day students may stay for lunch hour from 12:00-1:00 pm daily. Classes are Monday-Friday and there will be no classes on July 4 or during our annual Iron Man Regatta.
We offer courses in Optimist, Sunfish, ILCA 4 (Laser 4.7), and ILCA 6 (Laser Radial). Shore Acres Yacht Club provides club rental boats for first and second year students. These boats will be an Optimist for younger and smaller students. Older and taller students will use a Sunfish.

There are two classifications of fees. If the sailor's parents or grandparents belong to SAYC they pay the member rates. If the parents are not members, the junior sailor is required to join the club as a junior member. Fees are listed :
