Shore Acres Yacht Club is situated on what some would call the finest racing spot on Barnegat Bay. Just off Green Island there is consistent southerly breeze and open expanse for race courses. Our new clubhouse boasts ample vehicle parking, beach / hoist / ramp launching options, several large decks and docks for spectators, and our club house has two floors of spacious interior with air conditioning and heat so you are comfortable no matter what the regatta day weather brings.
In the past Shore Acres Yacht Club has hosted a wide variety of larger sailing events including US Sailing Champions of Champions, ILCA (Laser) 10 Districts, Area C Sears-Bemis-Smythe Junior Qualifier, MASSA Cressy Qualifier, and New Jersey Optimist States.
The newest addition to the SAYC regatta schedule our Kettle Cup Regatta. This one design regatta is for the Sailing World 2022 Boat of the Year award winner, the Melges 15.
Junior regatta that takes place in July of every year. Open to male junior sailors in Optimist, Sunfish, ILCA 6 (formally Laser Radial), ILCA 4 (formally Laser 4.7), 420s, and Fevas.
Featuring a popular chili cook-off this one day regatta the first Saturday in October helps MC sailors transition from summer to fall sailing.
Annual regatta open to ILCA 4, ILCA 6, and ILCA 7. Perpetual "Plank" trophy awarded to the ILCA 7 overall winner.
A collaboration with Normandy Beach Yacht Club, Lavallette Yacht Club, and Shore Acres Yacht Club, now open to Mantoloking Yacht Club and Metedeconk River Yacht Club as well for interclub sailing on the mid- Barnegat Bay. Fleets include: Sandpipers, Sanderlings, and Auxiliaries.
The event is open to all class legal Hobie Wave’s. Hobie 14’s, Hobie 16’s, Hobie 17’s, Hobie 18’s, and Hobie 20’s

Spectators are welcome on the Shore Acres Yacht Club grounds. We have ample patio and deck seating facing the prospective sailing venue. Spectators are also encouraged to bring their own spectator boats. Shore Acres Yacht Club has a small ramp or one-ton hoist for launching and abundant bulkhead space for pre- and post-race docking. Additional ramp launching options and a gas dock are available for purchase through our neighborhood marina Drum Point Marina.
Shore Acres Yacht Club typically is able to offer housing and on-site camping / RVs are permitted (see event NOR / SI to verify).
The competitors are ultimately responsible for the risks (See RRS 3 Decision to Race). The decision to enter the regatta, to start or continue any race is up to the competitor. Furthermore, each competitor accepts full responsibility for his/her actions during any activity related to the event, including onshore activities. The organizing authority will not accept any liability for property damage, personal injury, illness, or death sustained in conjunction with, prior to, during, or after the regatta.
