The Mid-bay Interclub is a collaboration between Normandy Beach Yacht Club, Lavallette Yacht Club, and Shore Acres Yacht Club, and is open to participation from Mantoloking Yacht Club and Metedeconk River Yacht Club for a three-time annual interclub between the "Mid-Bay" yacht clubs on Barnegat Bay. Fleets include: Sandpipers, Sanderlings, and Auxiliaries; contingent upon registrations.
Meet at Shore Acres Yacht Club (780 Drum Point Road, Brick) or on the water (40° 0' 58.968'' N 74° 6' 14.436'' W) day of the event. Skippers meeting will be at _:__ and broadcast on Channel 66A for those unable to make it to the deck. There will be a race for Sandpipers, Sanderlings, and Auxiliaries contingent upon registrations; awards for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd in each fleet will follow the races on Shore Acres Yacht Club's deck.
Shore Acres Yacht Club utilizes ClubSpot as our scoring program. All One-Design classes will be scored using a low-point scoring system. Auxiliaries will be scored using the North American Portsmouth Yardstick which is an empirical handicapping system meant to provide equitable scoring of race results for different boats sailing the same course.
Our bar and kitchen will be open for food and drink purchases before and after the races - the full menu can be viewed online in advance.
Spectators are welcome on the Shore Acres Yacht Club grounds. We have ample patio and deck seating facing the prospective sailing venue. Spectators are also encouraged to bring their own spectator boats. Shore Acres Yacht Club has a small ramp or one-ton hoist for launching and abundant bulkhead space for pre- and post-race docking. Additional ramp launching options and a gas dock are available for purchase through our neighborhood marina Drum Point Marina.
Shore Acres Yacht Club adheres to all of Brick Township and the State of NJ rules and regulations regarding COVID-19 policy and procedure. For a complete list of Shore Acres Yacht Club COVID-19 policies please click the link below
