The safety of all our members and guests is always our prime concern, so if you come to the club please remember our safety and social distancing rules:
Do not come to the club if you are sick, have been exposed to someone who is sick, or have traveled to a place on the NJ.Gov travel advisory list. Contact your primary care physician, and stay home per CDC guidelines. Please stay away the full 14 days of quarantine or as directed by your primary care physician whichever is appropriate.
If you are sick or have been in contact with a sick person and came to the club, please contact Commodore Phil right away! My cell number is 732-267-6342. If you are sick or have been exposed to COVID, I need to speak with you so contact tracing can be done. People will be discretely notified and quarantine and/or go for testing as required. This will be done as discretely as possible, and all members are asked to maintain discretion and not "out" anybody.
If contact tracing cannot be adequately done, recommendation will be made to the board to close the club for a period of time as required, likely 14 days.
Face coverings must be worn on the exterior property if you cannot maintain a six foot distance from someone.
Inside, face coverings must be worn at ALL times unless: you are under 2 years old, have a condition that precludes you from wearing one (SAYC may ask for proof from your primary care physician), you are seated at your table actively eating or drinking.
Face coverings must be worn while you are playing indoor games (pool, ping pong, board-games, etc).
Indoor dining capacity during club and grill hours is up to 50% (50 people on lower level, 20 people on upper level) as long as social distancing can be maintained. Occupants should still seek to maintain a 6 foot distance from others not in their party/household while indoors.
As per Executive Order 192 when the bar and grill are open, please come in and sit at your table and a server will come and take your order. Orders cannot be placed at the bar and NO sitting is allowed at the bar.
After hours, no more than 25 people are allowed in the entire building, no more than 50 people on the grounds.
Due to capacity issues, during dining hours, or while there is a bartender/server at the upper bar, there can be no game playing upstairs. If there is game playing upstairs, there can be no food or beverages.
The senior bartender/server on is the Officer of the Day. In lieu of a flag officer, they are in charge of enforcing club rules. They have the right to decline service to rule breakers. All serious complaints may be taken to the Board of Trustees for action per Article XII Section 1 of the Shore Acres Yacht Club Constitution.
Staff and volunteers for the bar and kitchen must complete a health questionnaire located in the binder behind the bar.
